A few people have asked how i plan to decorate my new apartment so I'm going to share some ideas that i have with you. In the past year I have fallen in love with purple, which is funny because my best friends favorite color has always been purple and I always thought it was a strange color to like.

I have a throw from IKEA that is a combination of off-white, grey and deep purple colors so I want to fashion my new drapery around that. On DominoMag.com, interior designers recommended using an open bookshelf to separate space in a small unit to differentiate the living and bedroom areas, but still allow light to flow through the room.

I like the black Expedit bookshelf available at IKEA (if i've never mentioned it before, I worked at IKEA for 3 years, pretty much any and every piece of furniture I own is from there..... hey they're affordable!).

Here is the floorplan provided by the website. This is not the layout of my aparment, but, note how the bookshelf seperates the bed from the living room area. I plan to do the same.
